Our church teaches about, and responds to, the love of the Triune God; the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.
God loves all the people of the world, even though we we are all sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, into the world to suffer and die as a substitute for all people of all time, thereby purchasing eternal forgiveness of all of our sins and granting us the promise of eternal life with God in heaven. Those who hear this Good News and believe it receive this gift of forgiveness and eternal life through the faith that is created by the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is God’s inerrant and infallible Word, in which He shows us His law and His message of grace, love and forgiveness, the Gospel, that is found in Jesus Christ. The Bible is the sole rule and norm for Christian Doctrine.
Not sure what all this means? That’s ok, our pastor would love to spend time with you examining what these statements mean and how they apply to the life of the church and each of us individually.
